Description
Description | This project would support energy efficiency upgrades to 9 community buildings within the Municipality of the County of Antigonish, including 6 Community Centres. The upgrades include heating systems, lighting, and the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) on each building. The solar PV installations are intended to offset the remaining electricity use after the retrofits are complete, resulting in each building achieving net-zero energy. The project will result in a total of 297 kW of solar installed. This project has significant support from the community, including all community groups that use the 9 buildings. Antigonish will be a leader in converting community buildings to Net Zero Energy and will serve as an example for other municipalities across Nova Scotia. The Municipality of the County of Antigonish will own and operate all project assets. The Municipality of the County of Antigonish will be the Ultimate Recipient of the funding. |
