IFC is considering a US$ loan of up to US$20 million equivalent and an equity investment of US$15 million in Anyou (China) Research of Animal Nutrition Company Limited (“Anyou” or the “Company”) a leading piglet feed company in China. Anyou has more than 20 production facilities located in frontier regions of China. IFC’s investment will help support the Company’s expansion in its frontier region facilities and generate development impact in reducing piglet mortality rate and improving frontier region farmers’ livelihood.Anyou’s main products include compound feeds, premix feeds and concentrate feeds for hogs. For all feeds categories, Anyou has weaning piglet series and fattening pig series. For premix and concentrate feeds, the Company also supplies breeding pig feed series. For piglet feeds, Anyou’s products have high palatability and high lactobacillus content, which can help newly weaned piglets get used to feeds, reduce weaning stress effect and better absorb the nutrition of feeds. For fattening pig feeds, Anyou focuses on low protein, ideal amino acids and net energy consumption, which can help to improve feed conversion ratio and reduce the production of animal waste (such as manure) contributing to a reduction of the environmental impact (effluent and methane generation) of hog farms. .
