Description | Artelecom is the regional telecom operator in the Arkhangelsk Region. The company provides basic local telephone services. It also provides national and international services through Rostelecom. Artelecom was privatized in December 1993, after the formation of Svyazinvest, the national holding company. Svyazinform held 38% of the common stock, and 51% of the voting rights by 1998. The remaining stake was mainly owned by employees and individual investors by 1998. Artelecom operated 265,050 access lines by 1996. The company had total revenues of $57 million in 1996. Became a branch of JSC North-West Telecom in November 2002. |
