Description | AO Kaliningrad Electrosvyaz is the regional telecom operator in the Kaliningrad Region. The company provides basic local telephone services. It also provides national and international services through Rostelecom. Kaliningrad Electrosvyaz started to be privatized in December 1993, after the formation of Svyazinvest, the national holding company. Svyazinform holds 38% of the common stock, and 51% of the voting rights. Employees and individual investors constitute the biggest shareholders. Kaliningrad Electrosvyaz had 114,000 access lines by 1998. In 1996, it generated a total revenues of $281 million. Became a branch of JSC North-West Telecom in November 2002. |
