Description | AO Kubanelectrosvyaz is the regional telecom operator in the Krasnodar Region, located in Northern Caucasus. The company provides basic local telephone services. It also provides national and international services through Rostelecom. AO Kubanelectrosvyaz was privatized in December 1993, after the formation of Svyazinvest, the national holding company. Svyazinform held 38% of the common stock, and 51% of the voting rights by 1998. The employees and individual investors are the main owner of the remaining stake. The company operated 710,450 access lines and had the total revenues for $181 million in 1996. After the privatization, the company invested US$50 million in the expansion and digitalization of its network, financed trough the revenues. Became a branch of Southern Telecom in November 2002. |
