Description

The Asia-Pacific region aims to install more than 270 gigawatts of offshore wind capacity across multiple countries including Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, India, and the Philippines. However, most projects remain in the feasibility or planning stages with very few turbines actually installed. Australia leads with a 100 GW pipeline but no construction has started. South Korea has awarded some projects but has only two operational wind farms. Taiwan has 2.7 GW operational but will miss its 2025 target. Vietnam has no approved offshore projects. Japan has eight operational offshore wind farms totaling around 300 MW.
