Description | The project entails the development of a 162-MW solar portfolio of plants located in Quixere, Ceara. The sponsors are Norwegian state oil and gas developer Scatec Solar (43.75%), renewables developer Statoil (43.75%) and Apodipar (12.5%), a holding company which replaced Kroma Energia. Total investment cost stands at $229.43 million and is being funded by debt and equity in 84:16 ratio. Banco do Nordeste do Brasil provided a BRL 470 million ($145.73 million) loan for the project. The debt has an 18-year tenor. A project bond amounting to BRL 150 million ($46.5 million) is also part of the financing. Hence total debt equals $192.23 million and the remaining $37.2 is provided by the sponsors on a pro rata basis. Financing closed on March 8, 2018. On 28 November 2018, the plant started commercial operations. |
