Description
Description | “Applying Safe Behaviours: Preventing and Responding to Peer Violence and Gender-Based Violence Amongst Vulnerable Children and Young People” aims to make children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds active agents in creating a safe environment for themselves and their peers, and to enable professionals who work with and care for children and young people to respond appropriately to peer violence amongst them. The project builds upon the successful methodology of the previous EU co-funded project “Applying Safe Behaviours” (2021-2023). The project will be implemented in Bulgaria, Italy, Kosovo, Romania, and Sweden. Specific objectives: 1. Through F2F peer-to-peer workshops delivered by young people aged 17-20, to build the capacity of 520 children and young people aged 11-15 to apply a Safe Behaviours approach, empowering and equipping them to recognise and speak about peer violence including gender-based violence, and to develop self-protective capacities. 2. To equip and empower 520 professionals who care for and work with children and young people through F2F or blended trainings to prevent, identify, and respond to peer violence amongst children in a balanced, safe, inclusive and caring manner, ensuring the best interest of every child. Indirectly, the trainings will reach 86,320 children/youth. 3. To raise awareness among children and young people, professionals, and the general population in the community on the issue of peer violence amongst children including gender-based violence. This will be achieved through awareness-raising workshops reaching 430 children and young people and 275 adults, and an e-learning course reaching 2000 professionals. 4. Through evidence-based policy recommendations and practice-based guidelines, to advocate for systematic changes to improve outcomes for children affected by peer violence and aim for children and young people to live lives free from violence in societies with positive social and gender norms. |
