  Founded in 2007, Aqua Expeditions Pty. Ltd. (‘Aqua’ or the ‘company’) operates two cruise boats providing soft-adventure experiences with one vessel based on the Mekong River and traversing sections of the river in both Cambodia and Vietnam, and the other on the Amazon River in Peru.  The vessel operating in Peru i.e., the “Aria”, was constructed in 2010 and is the first vessel operated by the company.  This boat has 16 cabins with the capacity for 32 people and is 45 m in length and 9 wide.  The other vessel i.e., the “Aqua Mekong” was constructed in 2014 and has 20 individual cabins with a capacity for 40 people and is 62.5 m in length and 11.5 m wide. In addition to the two boats, the company has offices located in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, Lima, the capital of Peru and Iquitos, Peru.  These offices typically focus on operations and providing support to the respective boats and associated activities on-shore.  The company’s headquarters are based in Singapore.  Aqua is currently finalizing design of another boat to be operated in Peru with the capacity of 40 passengers and construction is expected to be completed by mid-2020.   The company is currently exploring opportunities to expand operations further and IFC is considering a $10 million loan to support additional capacity for coastal cruises in Indonesia. For purposes of vessel construction, the company only works with established shipyards while for ongoing maintenance they are reliant on contractors where the vessels are located.
