Description

Description

Canada-based ARC Clean Technology has signed a term sheet with IC Nuclear & Industry to establish a commercial framework for deployment of the ARC-100 fast reactors in Türkiye and the wider region. The project includes reactor design adaptation, engineering development, local integration, and development of a Türkiye-based commercialisation strategy. The ARC-100 is a 100 MWe integrated sodium-cooled fast reactor based on the EBR-II prototype. The project is currently in pre-licensing and engineering phases, targeting a Licence to Construct in 2027 and aiming for reactor criticality and power generation by 2030. Türkiye aims to finalise regulatory frameworks and begin construction on prioritised SMR projects between 2030 and 2034, with a goal to have first SMRs generating power before 2035 and scaling up local production thereafter.
