Arc Ride Ltd is an electric mobility company operating a Battery as a Service (BaaS) model for electric two wheelers (E2Ws) in Kenya. The Company’s network includes automated battery swapping cabinets across Nairobi and Nakuru, a battery laboratory, and several maintenance hubs. IFC proposes an equity investment of up to US$5 million to support Arc Ride’s Series A financing round which aims to: (i) scale network density and service capacity in Kenya; (ii) support expansion into new markets across Africa, and (iii) strengthen technology capabilities through Research and Development (R&D) and incremental upgrades to internationally compliant standards.The Company’s activities include battery management, charging and swapping, maintenance operations, an assembly and servicing workshop, and partnerships with established assemblers. No greenfield construction or land acquisition is associated with the investment, and all operations occur within leased premises. This ESRS focuses on Arc Ride’s current operations in Kenya and outlines the E&S system requirements needed for responsible future scaling.
