Description | The project involves the development of the largest greenfield integrated steel plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India at Rajayyapeta in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh. The plant will be developed in phases with a total investment of Rs.1.35 lakh crore and is projected to produce 17.8 million tonnes of steel per annum. The project also includes the construction of a captive port costing Rs.11,198 crore and aims to generate employment for 100,000 youth. The first phase of production is planned to commence by 2028, with infrastructure such as a pipeline for iron ore supply being laid. |
