Description | The main objective of the project is to develop, demonstrate and disseminate new technologies that will improve societal resilience of future 6G networks in the Aurora region. Specifically: 1. develop quantitative tools to evaluate, measure and index cellular coverage inequality and urban-rural divide; 2. develop new, energy-efficient 6G-technology for rural/remote areas; 3. develop new IoT device localisation and authentication methods using results from (2); 4. develop improved network security functions using results from (2); 5. develop understanding about Sapmi and reindeer herders' connectivity challenges and communicate this to the 6G research/standardization community; 6. develop understanding about the feasibility to mount base station antennas onto windmill towers, and opportunities for remote areas (maritime environments, shores, archipelagos); 7. strengthen cross-border industrial/academic ties through common innovations, activities and external exposure. |
