The project has faced US sanctions since 2023, which have complicated its commercial operations and international partnerships. Despite sanctions, a new Russian LNG carrier named Mercury has been observed near the Arctic LNG 2 terminal, indicating renewed export activity and efforts to restore logistics chains for Arctic LNG exports. |
