Overall objective of the project is to expand and improve cross-border cooperation between leading research centres and industrial companies active in fields of metal technologies and metal constructions in Arctic conditions; To increase the resources for receiving energy from Arctic area through development and improving of materials and technologies used in metal industries by companies active in cross-border environment operating in extreme temperature conditions; To identify currently faced challenges and offer viable solutions by intensive development and production of the improved arctic metal technologies for Arctic regions of North-West Russia and Finland. It concerns first of all special shipbuilding (ice breakers, arctic freighters), offshore platforms, pipelines (gas and oil), windmills.
