The Ardea Resources Goongarrie Hub nickel-cobalt project is a large-scale mining development located in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields region. It features a resource of 584 million tonnes at 0.69% nickel and 0.043% cobalt, with approximately 4.0 million tonnes of contained nickel and 250,000 tonnes of contained cobalt. The project is planned for a 40+ year mine life and benefits from established infrastructure including highway, rail, power, and gas pipeline access. It incorporates advanced processing technology shifting from mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) to mixed sulfide precipitate (MSP) production, aiming for reduced carbon emissions and enhanced product quality. The project has secured over A$1 billion in export credit agency backing and involves strategic partnerships with Sumitomo Metal Mining and Mitsubishi Corporation, who hold 75% of the project offtake. The development pathway includes DFS completion in mid-2026, FEED phase, final investment decision, construction, and production ramp-up targeting late 2020s.
