The expansion includes three wells and a new drill center roughly 5 miles away from Argos, adding to the footprint of the Mad Dog field. The project was started up about 25 months after completing its appraisal well, setting a record for BP. It is part of BP's plan to grow production in the Gulf to around 400,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by the end of the decade. |
