Description | Arizona's Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) has received six proposals for projects that could import billions of gallons of water into the drought-stricken state. The proposals cover four categories: ocean water desalination, surface water sources, reclaimed water, and other sources. Four proposals came from EPCOR, and two desalination proposals came from Acciona-Fengate Water Augmentation Alliance and ZARETAW, LLC. WIFA staff will evaluate these proposals and suggest up to six for feasibility studies, with a decision expected by December 1, 2025. Final funding decisions may take one to two years after that. |
