Description

The Arkansas Valley Conduit is the final component of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project, a water diversion and storage project in the lower Arkansas Valley, approved in 1962. Once constructed, it will deliver clean drinking water from the Pueblo Reservoir to over 50,000 families, producers, and municipalities across 39 communities in the Lower Arkansas River Valley. The Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act aims to reduce interest payments on non-federal cost share funds and provide greater flexibility in repayment terms, ensuring underserved communities in Southeastern Colorado can access clean drinking water and repay the federal government.
