The wind farm was developed as a demonstrator project in the 1990s and constructed with seven turbines in 2003-4. The owner and operator, GE Vernova, applied earlier in 2025 to decommission the wind farm. The project generated renewable energy equivalent to powering 16,000 Irish homes per year during its operational life. |
