Description
Description | Aeroports du Cameroon (ADC) has a 15-year concession contract to manage five principal airport facilities and services at Douala, Garoua, Yaounde-Nsimalien, N'Gaoundere and Maroua, and to ensure minimum service for two secondary airports (Bamenda and Bertoua). ADC will invest US$ 30.8 million (CFAF 9 billion) over the contract period to renovate and expand facilities for the five major airports. The investment program is divided into two parts: a high-priority renovation program amounting US$ 14 million and financed primarily by the french development agency Caisse Francaise de Developpement (CFD); the remaining investment will by financed with resources from the fourth year of operation by ADC (internal resources). ADC's shares are divided as follows: Aeroports de Paris, the major shareholder, owns 34%; the government, 29%; ASECNA (Agence pour la Securite de la Navigation Aerienne en Afrique et a Madagascar), 20%. The government transferred to ADC full authority to set ground handling and other non-aeronautical charges. In 1999, GTM, a subsidiary of Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, acquired a 34% stake from ADP Management. In March 2001, Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux announced it changes its name to "SUEZ". In 2004, Aeroports de Paris sold its participation in ADC. The consortium remained in private hands for 37%. In 2011, ADC SA was still operating the concession. Unclear if the concession was renewed, and for how long. |
