The project aims at enhancing and promoting those areas of the cross-border territory which are not yet sufficiently known and with a potential still to be developed. In particular, the project aims at providing information about the various cultures, popular traditions, ethnography, naturalistic and historical peculiarities of the border areas around Trieste. Starting from the city of Trieste, a famous destination visited by many, the project will enhance the surrounding territory, the natural resources and the tourist destinations - the most interesting as well as the least known - which are directly or indirectly under the influence of the urban area and extend to the margins of the cross-border area. Against this background, tourist packages for one or more days will be created targeting both individual tourists and groups, for instance companies’ associations, elderly people, students, school groups, disabled persons, etc. The main purpose of the project is to qualify and diversify the tourist offer of the area and to enhance the elements of attraction throughout the year, with the purpose of matching sustainable tourism with the existing natural heritage.
