Description

Description

International event devoted to European cinema (90% of the films screened), it will offer, over ten days, a program of 110 feature films to more than 45,000 spectators. Aimed at all audiences, the festival is today a reference in matters of European cinema and attracts numbers of professionals as well as a large number of European structures and institutions. Its main objectives are to support European creation, circulation of films, and to pass on the taste of European cinema to all generations, to young people as a priority. In 2023 and 2024, the Festival will continue to discover and highlight new European talents, with particular attention given to authors from Central and Eastern Europe countries and Balkan region, who will participate in European Competition, Eastern films section and European Discoveries. World Cinemas section will promote European co-productions and a selection of previews will present films intended for a large audience. For children and their families, the Festival will offer films appropriate to age groups, play and educational activities and a diversity of workshops. Tributes to celebrated European talents and thematic retrospectives will provide a unique opportunity to explore cinema history. Film screenings will be enriched with Q&A sessions, round-tables discussions and master classes. The Festival is also a meeting point for film industry with its two events, which welcome more and more participants each year: ArrasDays, the co-production Forum, and Rencontres du Nord, intended for distributors and exhibitors. Finally, the festival exists throughout the year thanks to its international, national and regional cooperation projects, which facilitates the distribution of films as well as the training and awareness raising of a large number of people.
