Description
Description | Art Department Masterclass (ADM) is a high-level training programme designed for established art department professionals. Structured as two intensive 6-day residential sessions per year, the programme focuses on key phases of production: World Building (development and preproduction) and Reimagining the World(s) (postproduction and virtual design). Each session brings together 20 experienced art department professionals, joined by 10 directors and screenwriters during the World Building module to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration on real, in-development projects. Participants learn directly from award-winning production designers and experts through seminars, case studies, practical assignments, and one-on-one mentorship. With strong representation from low audiovisual production capacity countries, ADM actively addresses regional disparities in training access. Sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive leadership are embedded throughout the programme - both in content and delivery. Our previous experts include Eggert Ketilsson (Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet), Maria Djurkovic (The Hours, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Paco Delgado (Les Miserables, The Danish Girl), Uli Hanisch (Queen's Gambit, Babylon Berlin), Ludovica Ferrario (The Great Beauty, Youth, Young Pope), and many others. The 2026 edition will continue building on ADM’s strong alumni network, long-term impact, and proven capacity to equip European professionals with future-facing skills and global perspectives. Art Department Masterclass directly contributes to the objectives of the Creative Europe MEDIA Work Programme by fostering innovation, sustainability, cross-border collaboration, and professional resilience across the European audiovisual sector. |
