Description

"ARTIFACT – Artificial Intelligence for Artistic Futures and Creative Talents is a project aimed at placing visual artists at the center of the debate on AI, giving voice to the perspective they provide in the interpretation of the rapidly changing scenario and providing targeted tools and skills that can be adopted in their production. The ARTIFACT consortium is made up of - Mazzini Lab (IT), an innovation-driven cultural organization with experience in the production of innovative and effective training and communication for culture, and in supporting the cultural sector digitization through capacitation programs and IT tools design. - Austrian Institute of Technology (AT), an essential network node in the Austrian and EU research and innovation system. - X-OP (SI), a transnational platform for the production and presentation of contemporary art and culture. - Perfect Art Group (UA), an organization that supports diverse artistic and cultural initiatives to promote modern Ukrainian art, artists and culture in Ukraine and abroad, contributing to the building of a shared cultural future for modern Ukraine and Europe. The projects main activities are collaborative learning labs, led with a collaborative bottom-up approach and by engaging stakeholders, artists and experts; the development of a targeted AI capacity-building for EU artists; the production and showcase of 5 EU artists' pilot projects, the activation of an ARTIFACT network and the drafting, presentation and dissemination of a position paper. Main project deliverables are: - ""AI for artists: opportunities and challenges”, guidelines connecting main findings of desk research, stakeholders perspectives and what emerged from workshops. - ""ARTIFACT Capacity Building"", made up of multiple resources among which slides, tutorials, toolkit, exercises, case studies. - ""Pilot Projects Catalogue & Evaluation Report"", a comprehensive report on 5 pilots projects realized. - A repository of the initiatives carried out by the ARTIFACT network. - A Position paper stating EU artists' position on AI, summarizing insights and recommendations on AI and cultural policy."
