Arts on the Edge Spaces (ARES) Over a period of 2 years, ARES Platform aims to develop an international network of partner organisations focusing on communities on the edges of the continent, to support sustainable processes of mobility, research, creation and multidisciplinary artistic promotion. Involving artists who are exploring the realities of the marginal countries of Europe, the project will articulate new strategies to facilitate access and creation of contemporary art through the use of existing infrastructure, cross-border cooperation and co-production. The project focuses on different extremes of the continent, looking at how global events are challenging specific communities, finding junctions and crossovers which can strengthen their on the edge existence. The project design is based on 3 main pillars, build on an intersectional approach towards climate change which fosters simultaneity, complexity, irreducibility, and inclusivity: - Exploration Junctions: focused on artistic research - residency programmes and co-production scheme; - Creation Crossovers: circulation of multidisciplinary creations which can be adapted in various specific presentation contexts; - Marginalised knowledge: a platform dedicated to advocacy and awareness rising for specific communities in distress. 22 artists and cultural professionals, 5 teaching experts and 20 students, from 4 partner countries and Ukraine will directly benefit from the project activities. At least 24000 people will directly participate in the activities and events. An itinerant 2 month exhibition, as a major event involving all partners, will promote the project aims, addressing innovation and the EU overarching priorities.
