Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Aruna Medium Irrigation Project with a ticket size of 1472.14 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion. The Aruna Medium Irrigation Project is being constructed on river Arunain Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra. The construction work of the project was started in the year 2005. The project envisages construction of the following components. Gorge filling in dam is completed upto Top Level, storage of water started in the dam. The construction of Headwork has been completed. The construction of main/common canal has been completed 80 Percent. There are 06 structures on main canal out of that works has been started for 2 structures. The total length of right bank canal is 14.25 km. Total length can be divide into two parts 1 open canal from 0 to 160 m and 2 PDN from 530 m to 14250 m. The work on total length has been awarded, but it is not yet start. The major structure i.e. 370 m long aqueduct is located in between RD 160 m - 530 m on RBC. The construction of aqueduct 100 Percent works have been complete so far. The total length of left bank canal is 23.13 km. Total length can be divide into two parts 1 open canal from 0 to 13000 m and 2 PDN from 13000 to 23130 m. The work on open canal had been awarded and throughout the 13 km length 80 Percent works have been completed so far. There are 79 structures on open canal and all of them are awarded with the canal work. Works had been awarded for the PDN proposed in remaining length. Project authorities reported that the work of open canal & PDN is planned to be completed by March 2024.
