Description | As Makinsan Temiz Enerji Elektrik Uretim San Ve Tic AS was the sponsor of the 25MW As Makinsan Bandirma Wind Power Plant Project in Bandirma district, Balikesir province. The project was developed on a greenfield, build own and operate (BOO) basis, and was awarded through a license scheme. Electricity generated by the wind farm was to be delivered to the Turkish national grid. Financial closure was reached on June 15, 2009, when the sponsor and the mandated arranging bank, Turkiye Garanti Bankasi, signed a EUR22.36 million (US$31.08 million) 10-year term loan, comprising a 1.5 year grace period and 18 semi-annual repayment periods. The total project cost was EUR 36 million (US$50.04 million), with the balance (EUR13.64 million / US$18.96 million) funded by the sponsor’s equity contribution. |
