ASAP - Accessing services, Sharing Approaches and Practices

The rapid increase in arrivals of migrants in Europe starting from 2014 brought to light existing structural limitations of local capacities to provide a migrant-inclusive access to basic services and the Covid-19 pandemic accentuated these deficits. Public services and CSOs play a crucial role in facilitating this access, as they can implement complementary tasks: public service providers should deliver appropriate, culturally, linguistically and gender-responsive services and information, while local CSOs are able to communicate well with migrants and have capacities to engage with their communities. ASAP aims at improving the availability and quality of information on and access to public services for TCNs, by identifying and addressing the existing obstacles and promoting new promising practices. Its specific objective is to support local service providers and CSOs in 6 European countries in the implementation of effective and replicable practices which can respond to TCns needs in the sectors of employment, housing, education and health. The project aims at establishing a strong collaboration between public service providers and civil society at local level, improving coordination and operational cooperation through a system of intra-referral. Other important pillars are to enhance the capacity of CSOs and service providers in terms of knowledge, skills and networking and to improve knowledge of relevant stakeholders, both at local and European level, about replicable and effective responses to challenges. Beneficiaries: 72 participants in local networks 265 stakeholders involved in the needs assessments, 280 service providers and 180 CSOs’ representatives trained, 500 stakeholders informed about promising practices, 5100 TCNs informed about services. Outputs: 6 needs assessments, 6 local networks, 24 capacity buildings, 6 pilot practices, 12 promising practices, European handbook and video, 24 factsheets, 6 info kits, 12 events and advocacy meetings.
