Ascend Elements Project Apex 2 is the EU's first fully integrated battery materials refining center in Poland. It will refine spent lithium-ion batteries into new, low-carbon cathode materials, including lithium and precursor cathode active material (pCAM), using Ascend Elements' patented Hydro-to-Cathode® technology. The facility aims to support the EU's energy transition and net-zero goals by creating a sustainable, low-emission supply chain for lithium-ion batteries within the EU, reducing dependence on imports from high-risk markets.
