The project will retrofit the Village of Ashcroft Fire Department’s Hall. The expansion will increase the size of the apparatus bay and create a hose drying area. The upgrades will also include improved lockers and changing areas allowing for a quicker response time during calls. The improvements will extend the useful life of the building by many years. The Hall also protects the Ashcroft Indian Band as well as the Village. The project will extend the useful life of the existing building and improve response times to emergencies by providing space for the firefighters to safely dry hoses and put on their gear. The project works include: - construction of an approx. 840 sqft expansion of apparatus bay; - installation of turnout gear lockers; - construction of the hall expansion by approx. 540 sqft; - construction of two bathrooms including fixtures; - installation of a generator; - relocation of laundry; - installation of windows and ventilation; - upgrade lighting, insulation, electrical and plumbing; - reconfiguring of storage area; - upgrades to the fire chief office; and, - all related works
