Description | The Assam Urban Sector Development Project aims to enhance urban livability and strengthen climate resilience in six district headquarters and Guwahati in Assam. It includes the construction of six water treatment plants with a combined capacity of 72 million litres per day, about 800 km of distribution pipelines, and improved stormwater management systems. The project also involves deploying a real-time monitoring system to keep non-revenue water below 20%, strengthening stormwater management in Guwahati, establishing the Assam State Institute for Urban Development in collaboration with IIT Guwahati, and introducing digital reforms such as a GIS-based property tax database and digital water billing systems. |
