Description
Description | asterisk* is a Greek production company that develops and produces compelling projects for the international market, embracing co-production and innovation at every step of the way. This commitment is reflected by the diversity of projects in this mini slate, which can be summarized as follows: FINGER THIEF is a feature film that was written and will be directed by Harry Patramanis whose debut feature film, FYNBOS, premiered at Berlinale. His second feature film is a thriller that tells the story of a young gymnast who escapes her abusive environment and lives a solitary life on the rooftops of Athens. Dialogue-free, featuring a narrative approach that borrows from classic action films and even video games, FINGER THIEF is a bold, innovative, and visually-striking film that pushes the boundaries of conventional genre to tell an emotional and empowering survival story. The episodic series GATES OF EDEN is a political thriller that takes dead aim at one of the world’s most powerful political institutions: the European Parliament. Two complex and multi-dimensional female protagonists are in the middle of it all: one a Greek Member of the European Parliament whose ambition clouds her judgement; the other, an equally ambitious French journalist who is driven to expose the rapidly developing scandal. ALI’S SONG is an animated children’s short film that was written by Angeliki Darlasi and will be directed by Konstantina Papadopoulou. The film is set in an enchanted fairground, documenting the journey and of a young Roma girl whose vibrant presence brings life to the drab, monotone, prejudiced environment of a small town. Using magical realism and captivating visuals to challenge societal prejudices, the uplifting film is a celebration of diversity and promotes understanding and acceptance among young viewers. The film is based upon the book “From Afar,”which was nominated for the acclaimed Hans Christian Andersen award for children’s literature. |
