Description | Astrakhansvyaz is the regional provider of telephone services in the Astrakhan Oblast in the Povolzhsky region. The company provides basic local telephone services. It also provides national and international services through Rostelecom. Astrakhansvyaz was privatized in December 1993 after the formation of Svyazinvest, the national holding company. Svyazinform held 38% of the common stock, and 51% of the voting rights by 1998. The employees and individual investors constituted the remaining shareholders by 1998. Became a branch of Southern Telecom in November 2002. |
