It was developed through the Ropeway Transport Development Corporation following the initiative of then Sports and Youth Affairs Minister and local MLA, Rakesh Pathania. The stadium hosted state and national level sports events but has since fallen into disrepair due to official apathy and shifting political priorities. Recent heavy rainfall caused water damage to the wooden courts and facilities. The stadium's operations were handed over to a sub-divisional committee in December 2023, but maintenance has declined. Urgent repairs and upkeep are needed to prevent the facility from becoming unusable. |
