Description
Description | The new passenger terminal will have 340,000 squared meters and a capacity of 14 million passengers per year. The contract's lenght is devided as 30 months for construction and 4 years for operation (the new passenger building is expected to be open in June 2000). The project company is headed by the turkish construction companies Tepe and Akfen, while Flughafen (Vienna Airport management company) holds a small stake (5%). Nevertheless, Flughafen will operate the terminal. The project will be financed with funds from SBC Warburg and Turkey's Korfez bank. When the contract period ended in 2004, the terminal ownership and operation was transferred to the government as initially agreed. In 2005, the Ataturk Airport was transferred to private management through a lease contract. |
