Description
Description | ATELIER LUDWIGSBURG-PARIS is a one-year, full-time continuous training programme aimed at bolstering the competitiveness of the European film industry. Organised by Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg and La Fémis in Paris, it welcomes 18 postgraduate participants, up to the age of 30, equally representing Germany, France, and various other countries. Each year, this diverse group forms a class of future producers and other professionals in the audiovisual industry. The curriculum covers all stages of audiovisual production, from development, financing and production to distribution and marketing for the international market. Taught by active professionals from across Europe, the programme blends theory with hands-on learning. The learning goals include gaining a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business through both theoretical and practical study units. In previous years, the graduate employment rate in the audiovisual market is around 90%, underscoring the excellence and esteemed reputation of ATELIER LUDWIGSBURG-PARIS as a premier postgraduate training programme. The year begins in Ludwigsburg, followed by Paris and a trip to the Berlin Film Festival. Participants then attend a session in London at the National Film and Television School before returning to Ludwigsburg. After interning with a European distributor or sales company and working at the Cannes Film Festival, participants come back to La Fémis for the May/June session. The schedule includes visits to major events such as Clermont-Ferrand and Series Mania Lille. For the final project, participants team up in international pairs to produce a short film in Ludwigsburg or Paris, co-produced and broadcast by SWR/ARTE. Through its alumni organisation, Atelier Network, the programme fosters lasting European industry ties and supports the creation of a strong, connected new generation of producers. |
