Description | Canadian Natural Resources Limited completed an asset swap transaction with Shell Canada Limited involving the Athabasca Oil Sands Project. Canadian Natural swapped 10% of its working interest in the Scotford Upgrader and Quest Carbon Capture and Storage facilities for Shell's remaining 10% working interest in the Albian oil sands mines, associated reserves, and other non-producing oil sands leases. This transaction resulted in Canadian Natural owning 100% of the Albian mines and retaining an 80% non-operated interest in the Scotford Upgrader and Quest facilities, while Shell owns a 20% interest in the Scotford Upgrader and Quest facilities and remains the operator of the Scotford Upgrader. |
