Description

Description

The project AGREE - Athletes for Good governance and Rights in EuropE aims to improve the sport governance by enhancing the relevant knowledge and developing competences related to collective bargaining. Considering the connection between the athlete rights, collective bargaining and good governance, the project´s goal is also to increase the understanding of and support for social dialogue and collective bargaining in sport. The project will reach its objectives by conducting research within the topic of collective bargaining agreements in sport, organizing job shadowing visits and national events, developing European minimum standard contract and collective bargaining agreement and practical guidelines, while ensuring wide dissemination of its results and deliverables. The project will also aim to foster cooperation between relevant stakeholders at national, European and international level. The consortium is composed of EU Athletes (coordinator), the European multisport federation of player unions and associations, Edge Hill University, and 8 diverse player unions and associations representing 7 European countries (Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain) and a number of different sports including basketball, cycling, futsal, handball, Gaelic games, rugby, volleyball as well as individual sports.
