ATMS: COLUMBUS/MUSCOGEE COUNTY/GDOT REGIONAL TCC

This project is a safety and operational improvement in the City of Columbus in Muscogee County. The Columbus Regional Traffic Control Center (TCC) will provide the core communications and infrastructure for monitoring and operating the traffic system in the Columbus Area. The purpose of this project is to reconfigure a portion of an existing city government office complex to serve as the TCC. The space to be reconfigured is on the second floor of the Columbus Government Annex at 420 Tenth Street. This project is a companion project to the Advanced Traffic Management System project that will install fiber interconnect and traffic montioring equipment along several roadway in Columbus. The purpose of this project is to enable centralized arterial traffic monitoring, signal control and quicker incident response along the corridors from the TCC facility.
