ATU12 – Lease of solid mineral bulk in the Port of Aratu – Candeias/BA

The ATU12 project was qualified at the 10th Meeting of the PPI Council through Resolution No. 69, of 08/21/2019, converted into Decree No. 10,138, of 11/28/2019. It is a port terminal lease, located in the Organized Port of Aratu-Candeias/BA, dedicated to the movement of solid bulk, mainly fertilizers, copper concentrate and various ores. The estimated contractual term is 25 years. This is a “brownfield” project, with approximately 154,916 m², with an expected average movement of 2 million tons/year. Investments of approximately R$280 million are planned. The prioritization of this project is observed due to the need to meet the pent-up demand destined for the Port of Aratu for the movement of solid bulk, mainly fertilizers and magnesite as demonstrated in the Master Plan of the Salvador and Aratu-Candeias Port Complex. The bidding for the terminal meets the guidelines now established under Law No. 12,815/2013, which aim to increase the country's competitiveness and development through the exploration of organized ports and port facilities, in addition to promoting expansion and modernization of the Organized Port of Aratu-BA guaranteeing the quality of the activity provided, in addition to promoting competition and broad access to the Organized Port.
