Description

Description

Objective: Design of an EMJM in Audiovisual and Media Anthropology. Coordination: WWU Münster Partners: Aix-Marseille University (AMU) + Art Academy of University of Split (UMAS) Activities: The EMDM fund will provide the three partnering HEI’s the resources necessary to establish the legal, conceptual and administrative backbone to set up a consortium, develop a shared curriculum, organize operational systems, and craft a strong EMJM proposal. Through this development process, meetings and workshops the three HEIs will marshal resources to further align their needs and actions whilst reinforcing their academic bonds. WWU will mobilize the professors and staff from all three HEIs as well as external advisers to create a new opportunity for (international) students through the foreseen innovative and unique joint master program in the EHEA. Result: A highly competitive joint master curriculum in Audiovisual and Media Anthropology that offers European and intercontinental students the opportunity to visit three socio-culturally different European regions. Through such diverse experiences, students will gain more than technical and academic skills: they will participate in rich fieldwork in different European contexts. With the EMDM funding our scholars and staff will prepare workshops and meetings between the three HEIs that will enable advanced and continuous training to foster the EMJM design and proposal. The EMDM period will be in itself an enriching pedagogical and training period for the involved HEI’s staff. The three HEI’s are each important European universities in their respective regions. The complementarity of their approach and expertise is a major asset for the design and sustainability of a future EMJM. By combining conceptual training of the anthropology departments with the practical, audiovisual tools of an art academy students will be capable of generating qualitative research and communicating academic knowledge to a wider public.
