AUGENEXT isAUGENEXT is aimed at shaping the future of Europe, of its cities and its citizens, in a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient way. A multidisciplinary and transnational team of artists, youngsters and activists will work to boost visions, dreams, actions that - encompassing lessons learned from the past year – will inspire and guide future ways of living together. The global emergence from the COVID 19 pandemic brings unprecedented effort, energy, impetus towards recovery. While cities around the world are embracing a new spirit of necessitated invention and ad hoc collaboration, AUGENEXT explores opportunity to use “un-disciplinary” co-invention to help them explore current living, learning, and working environments, anticipate societies’ needs, and magnify their potential to craft a new, more equitable, sustainable, resilient and integrated future. To do that the project will build on AUGE project and its community of 700 youngsters from Italy, Germany, Greece, Latvia, that worked together, supported by artists, to co-create ideas and visions on 4 challenges: 1) Diversity and social inclusion 2) Climate change 3) Future jobs 4) Connecting people and cities We want to keep this community alive, keep working with the youngsters, inviting young artists to take an active role to interpreter the ideas and visions coming from the youngsters through co-creation events (artathons), using innovative languages and perspectives (data, AI, VR) to co-create digital artworks that can rise citizens’ awareness on the 4 challenges in the light of the pandemic. The project will give to the artists the opportunity to learn how to use digital languages, tools for the audience development, to reach young people, involve them and at the same time to shine a new light on societal challenges. At the same time, we want to: • enlarge the transnational community of youngsters and young artists • spread know-how and competences that could serve them for their future
