Aurea Solar is a 50 kW floating solar pilot project in Golden, Colorado, utilizing innovative AquaPhi® tracking technology. It demonstrates a novel application of floating solar with tracking capabilities, enhancing energy output by 10-20% compared to conventional static systems. Located on Fairmount Reservoir, it transforms existing water infrastructure into energy-generating assets while conserving water through reduced evaporation. It is the first U.S. project to incorporate scalable, high-performance tracking on water, integrating solar technology with water utilities to meet growing energy and water demands.
