Aurèle-Dubois Cultural Space Expansion and redevelopment of infrastructure

The Aurèle-Dubois cultural space is currently operated by the Beloeil municipal library and by the non-profit organization Diffusions de la Coulisse for the purposes of a creative center for young people. The project involves the redevelopment and expansion of the library and the creative center. In addition, a new theatrical creation space for young people will be built and operated by the non-profit organization L’Arrière-Scène. The main project elements are: • Increase of the floor area of the library by 442 m2 and redevelop the spaces; • Redesign and expand the Cultural Center by 201 m2; • Construction of new premises of 623 m2 for creation, production and distribution spaces; • Expansions planned behind the two-storey Cultural Center performance hall, for new boxes and depots; • Addition of an interior mezzanine to the library; • Expansion of the youth creation and dissemination center towards the rear by reconfiguring the parking lots; • Demolition and transformation into a parking lot of an obsolete building (Pavillon Lanctôt); • Conversion of an interior courtyard into a closed space that can be used 4 seasons; • Pooling of available spaces This project will allow the city of Beloeil to offer its population a better quality cultural infrastructure to improve access.
