Australia-Asia PowerLink Solar Farm at Powell Creek Station

SunCable has secured a 70-year land use agreement with traditional owners to develop a 12,000-hectare solar farm on Powell Creek Station in the Northern Territory's Barkly region. The project aims to deliver up to 6 GW of dispatchable renewable electricity to industrial customers, linking the solar precinct to Darwin and Singapore via a 4,300 km subsea transmission cable. The company targets a final investment decision in 2027 and plans to start generating solar energy in the Barkly region by the late 2020s, in Darwin by the early 2030s, and in Southeast Asia by the mid-2030s.
