Description | Australia Post has opened a 78,000sqm air freight and parcel facility at Brisbane Airport, increasing its processing capacity in Queensland. The site can handle up to 250,000 parcels per day and features direct tarmac access, consolidating Express Post and StarTrack Premium operations into a single location. The facility uses automated sortation systems to increase throughput and reduce manual handling, and will accommodate close to 500 workers once fully operational. It includes dedicated inspection areas for border and agricultural authorities, purpose-built rest areas for detector dogs, targets a 5-star Green Star rating, and includes a 450kW solar system with on-site battery storage. It is the largest industrial development completed at Brisbane Airport to date. |
