Description | The Australian Government has approved 19 renewable energy projects under Tender 7 of its Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS), adding a combined 7.8 GW of renewable generation capacity and 7.9 GWh of battery energy storage across the National Electricity Market. These projects will be developed across New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, and South Australia, and are expected to power around 4 million Australian households by 2030. The initiative aims to unlock nearly AUD 17 billion in private sector investment and create approximately 19,000 construction jobs, with additional community-focused commitments. |
