Description

Description

LUYTEN 3D, in collaboration with the University of Wollongong, developed Australia's first submerged 3D concrete printing system featuring a world-first concrete formulation capable of setting underwater without chemical accelerators. The system uses a "single-mix" concrete designed to remain stable and extrudable in submerged conditions, enabling underwater additive manufacturing that overcomes challenges like hydrostatic pressure, material washout, and robotic stability. The technology aims to transform marine construction by reducing staging infrastructure, chemical dependencies, and enabling controlled digital fabrication directly on the seabed for applications in defense, port infrastructure, offshore energy, and coastal construction.
