Description | Lockheed Martin Australia has been selected by the Australian government as the preferred combat system integration strategic partner for the country's future fleet of conventionally armed, nuclear-powered Virginia-class submarines. The partnership aims to strengthen Australia's sovereign submarine capabilities, expand domestic industrial capacity, and develop workforce skills ahead of submarine deliveries in the early 2030s. Lockheed Martin will collaborate with the Australian Submarine Agency and ASC Pty Ltd to establish the necessary technical workforce, industrial partnerships, and infrastructure to support the submarines' combat systems throughout their operational lifecycle. |
